Welcome to this week's Market Update. As a quick reminder we listed two new practices a fortnight ago:

Meanwhile we are delighted for a Melbourne client 1 Principal firm. Melbourne East Fees of $448,000 Accounting and $294,000 FP (ID#209) who successfully executed a Contract of Sale and settled over the last couple of weeks. We were able to generate interest from 89 interested parties and the entire sale process took just four months from listing to settlement. Both the seller and the buyer are extremely happy with the outcome. The level of interest was evidence of the very strong demand for practices with integrated accounting and financial planning offerings. On a final note, it was terrific to be back in Perth last week presenting at the CPA Australia Public Practice Forum WA 2023. Over 120 practice owners and accountants were in attendance for DMY's Market Update on Buying and Selling Accounting Practices. Lots of interest in our latest market data and plenty of great questions from the floor and over a few glasses of wine afterwards. Congratulations to the CPA Perth team for the location. Scarborough beach was a knockout as the event wrapped up!


Four years since my (Mark's) last trip to Perth is way too long. And after a weekend enjoying the best of the Margaret River region, West Australia is definitely back near the top of my list for a few return visits soon. It's an exciting market for DMY and an awesome destination for combining business and pleasure.

This month we are off to Tasmania for the  CPA 2023 Public Practice Symposium in Launceston on 16 March and a few days in Sydney later in the month. If there are any Tasmanian or Sydney practice owners ready to sell, thinking of selling in the future, or looking to gain a greater insight into the market do reach out and let's talk.
