Meanwhile, we had a really interesting conversation this week with a practice owner who was thinking of selling but feeling very anxious about the whole process. This is an area DMY thinks about deeply and we spend a lot of time continually improving how we work with, and support, our clients to reduce their anxiety as much as possible. You cannot eliminate it altogether but understanding when anxiety is most likely to occur, and how best to manage it, can lead to a less stressful experience and a better outcome. We have written an article on this which is valuable reading for anyone thinking of selling - or for empathetic buyers wanting to better understand how the person on the other side of the table may be feeling! On a final note, it has been another busy week on the road. Tuesday, I (Mark) was in Brisbane meeting with clients and prospective buyers and yesterday was a full day of second round meetings in Melbourne with a client and a number of shortlisted buyersToday it is great to be in Tasmania presenting our Market Update on Buying and Selling Accounting Practices at the CPA Australia Public Practice Symposium 2023. I'm looking forward to meeting practice owners from across Tasmania over a few glasses of locally-produced wine, or maybe even a craft gin (I discovered on my January holiday in Tasmania that there are around 70 craft gin distilleries across Tasmania so plenty of options!).

Daniel is also heading back to Brisbane later this month and I will be in Sydney in April so if there are any practice owners ready to sell, thinking of selling in the future, or looking to gain a greater insight into the market do reach out to us below to arrange a coffee date.
